Located adjacent to the Channel 9 Willoughby television station and under the main transmitter tower the new TX Australia broadcast equipment facility is designed to ensure continued 24 hour and seven day operation of media television media broadcast equipment.
Accommodating essential television broadcast equipment the air-conditioned facility includes a new kiosk electricity transformer, 450kVA standby generator and diesel fuel tank, disaster recovery storage shed, staff amenities and parking.
Designed to withstand objects that may fall from the tower the roof is a concrete slab with water proof membrane that allows for staging of tower maintenance works if required.
Responding to local community concerns relating to visual impacts the building is designed using traditional building forms and materials including face bricks facades with generous landscaping as a sympathetic response to neighbouring properties.
