The two-storey hybrid 132/11kV and 66/11kV zone substation is designed to improve electricity supply and reliability for the Lower Central Coast. The substation provides accommodation for 132kV gas-insulated switchgear and two 132 kV transformers. It is constructed of high-quality materials including exterior banded brickwork and interior fire-rated ceilings and concrete walls. Social and economic benefits are maximised while environmental and visual impacts are minimised by usage of indoor switch gear and pitching roof. These blend in with surrounding bushland and residential developments for a responsive building design.
