The Ultimo continuous television news studio acts as the headquarters for the ABC’s national 24-hour news channel. The channel streams to 44 countries and is linked to all national major newsrooms, 60 regional radio and television newsrooms and 12 international bureau to provide a 24-hour news service.
Brewster Murray was responsible for the design, documentation and construction administration of the studio. Liaison with the ABC television production team ensured the studio achieved their objectives relating to 'set design' and technical fitout.
A large view window facing the main Ultimo Street level public atrium - constructed of special laminated and toughened glass - provides a visual link from private to public space whilst maintaining the highest level of security for ABC staff.
